To be spiritually gifted…

spiritual giftsGod has called us to a place of spiritual gifting!

#wewerecalledtothislife

It can be difficult to step out in these sceptical times and out rightly declare “I am a prophet” or to quite plainly state that “God spoke to me” or “God told me to tell you…” But God does speak to people, He does send messengers to speak to us in an audible voice. We have to know that God has called us to a place of spiritual gifting! Jesus did not die so that we could live an ordinary Christian life – go to church listen to sermons and go back home.

Jesus said in Mark 16:

“These signs will follow those that believe. In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”

When someone tells you that they are sick you may feel reluctant to lay hands on them and declare healing perhaps you fear rejection or perhaps you don’t want to seem ‘prideful.’ It’s not prideful to walk in your calling! We were called to this life! God’s promises are irrevocable and His Word does not return void.

Love – The Greatest Gift

1 Corinthians 12 v 8 – 10 talks about the gifts of the Spirit: “the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

However, 1 Corinthians 13 reminds us that “though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”

This means that regardless of what gifts the Holy Spirit empowers us to operate under; we must use them within the boundaries of love! Love is the Greatest Gift. Jesus didn’t heal people so that He could be known as a healer. Everything that Jesus did was out of love.

We shouldn’t be scared to walk in the gifts of the spirit lest people accuse us of being ‘too much,’ too spiritual’ or ‘too something else,’ on the contrary we were called to this life.

Why do we feel that we must explain away our gifts in order to show humility? To walk in your calling is not a prideful thing neither is it something that must be hidden. You are the light of the world! A city that is set upon a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14)

I remember a couple of years ago I was at a conference and a prophet spoke to me about my life – he gave me specific and detailed words of knowledge that helped me find my purpose. He didn’t just say “serve God” or “be blessed.” He gave me specific guidance and direction that could only have been known by the Spirit of God because I never met him before that day.  God wants us to be empowered and equipped to walk boldly in the direction of our calling. Sometimes God sends people to help us along the way. There’s nothing wrong with that.

This does not mean that we walk in blindness believing everything we hear: “Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits , whether they are of God; because many false prophets  have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

The intention of this scripture is for us to be wise. When someone gives you a word does your spirit bear witness? You have to be able to bear witness. These days when people don’t understand spiritual things they start saying ‘your too much.’ There’s nothing too much about it we were called to this life! Don’t be afraid to walk in your calling! This is what God wants!

“He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, Saying, “Do not touch my anointed ones; And do My prophets no harm”(Psalms 105 v 14 -15)

We have to know that – #we #were #called #to #this #life

What if God wants to use you to speak a word of knowledge to someone – will you do it? Do you have enough faith to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit or have you settled for the ordinary?

Are you ready for the supernatural?

I’m looking forward to 2018 more events and conferences about the gifts of the spirit and walking into purpose. Stay tuned for updates.

Thank you for heart in this blog, you couldn’t have said it better, many Christians do in fact shadow away from their spiritual gifting and its about that time children of God step up to their calling and allow God’s purpose in their life to flourish. This blog has by all means encouraged me as a Christian and I hope it does the same to many. #greatread

This is a very real and proper blog! It is unusual to the world to walk in the Spirit but it should be the norm for Christians, we are called to such a life as this , amen! 😀

This blog is filled with so much truth. We are so worried about people thinking we are doing ‘too much’ as opposed to being worried that we are doing ‘too little’ with the gifts that God has blessed us with. Not many bloggers will write on giftings..this was definitely needed.
