The Spirit Man

Do we realise how much we can become influenced by the people we spend our time around? Influence is a powerful possession; it can be used for both good and bad.

What would life be like if you spent eleven years in a Kings palace? How would you expect yourself to act, think and reason?  Would you not be influenced by the King and His royal ways?  If you spend enough time in the presence of a King His ways will rub off on you. Similarly, if you spend enough time in the presence of a thief his ways will rub off on you too. Who do you spend your time with? …. in the presence of a #spiritman

Who is He? That every foe should fear His name?

#Jesus #Spiritman. This is the Man that laid down his life for you. His life! #weneedtoknowHim

There’s no greater love than this, that a man would lay down His life for his friends. The Spirit Man!

Imagine a Man who was everything you ever wanted in a Friend and everything you ever wanted to be.

His miraculous provision:

Sometimes we can overlook the things that the Spirit Man does on a daily basis because we are too busy looking outward. Quick story: last week I got a parking fine for spending 10 minutes too long in a car park – I was meeting a friend to arrange something important. #Godswork

Anyway, in that same batch of letters I got a letter from the Employment Tribunal basically stating that a new law had been passed in 2017 and that they were reimbursing any fees paid within the Employment Courts between 2013 and 2017. I had a case in the Employment Appeals Tribunal in 2014 so I filled out a short form; they replied that they are going to reimburse me with a sum of money that amounts to ten times the amount of the parking fine that I received that day. You can call it perfect timing but the Spirit Man is a provider. #Hisprovision #Spiritman

“I shall rebuke the devourer for your sakes that he may not destroy the fruits of your ground.” [Malachi 3:11]

His Time:

You don’t need to go and hang out with a particular person just so that they can do little things to boost your confidence or tell you how nice you look. You also don’t need to start comparing your life to someone else’s and developing feelings of inadequacy. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God. [Romans 8:7]. To be carnally-minded, means to reason with your flesh and be led by your emotions. “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.” [Romans 8:8]. #Spiritman

The more time you spend in the presence of the Spirit Man the more likely you are to be influenced by His ways. Sometimes we can seek validation in the wrong things, you need to hear what the Spirit Man says about you! If you spend time in His presence you will hear His voice:

“For your Maker is you husband the Lord Almighty is His name and your Redeemer is the Holy one of Israel, He is called the God of the whole earth. [Isaiah 54:5]

It’s really important to choose wisely how you spend your time because the time that you spend building up your flesh is time you could spent building up your spirit. The Spirit Man builds you up. #Jesus #SpiritMan #FromtheFathersownrighthand

When you pray ask questions – prayer is a two way conversation!

Some practical steps:

  • When you pray, ask questions then use your journal to record the response, when things start to happen you can go back and reference the place in your journal where you wrote about that particular issue. Then you will see that the Spirit Man is real and makes daily moves.
  • Make a conscious effort to read you bible and write down God’s Word so you can meditate on it throughout the day. [Psalms 1:2] –And in His law he meditates day and night.
  • Spend time in the presence of the Spirit Man so that His character rubs off on you.

Spiritual Warfare

Are you going through a tough time? Do you feel like every time you take a step forward you get pushed straight back to where you started? Are you facing constant mind battles – being reminded of things that happened way back in the past?

Spiritual warfare comes in all shapes and sizes but its aim is always to keep you from moving forwards, to keep you from conquering and acquiring all that God has in store for your life.

This month I woke up feeling annoyed and irritated by many different things that were being brought to my recollection.  It was mainly to do with situations and words that people have spoken to me – ever wish you could go back in time to a certain situation and answer that person differently?  That’s because the enemy wants to pull you back to a place that you have left! .  You don’t need to go back and give an answer.  The truth is God already answered them for you– sometimes God answers people with His actions.

“By awesome deeds in righteousness you will answer us – Psalms 65:3

Now it’s just noise, the devil wants to bring evil words to remembrance to keep you from moving forward. He wants to keep you from moving forward in your relationships, moving forward in your purpose and moving forward in your destiny.

STRATEGY EXPOSED: That was the original plan – kill, steal and destroy – remember! John 10:10

Words are spiritual and can cause many emotions to rise up inside of a person. This is why evil words are one of the devils greatest tools when facing spiritual warfare.  The person that spoke the words may not physically be in your life anymore, it may be something that was said way back in the past. But evil words have an ability to bring back the same emotions of anger, rejection, inferiority or whatever they caused the first time. The devil uses people to attack your character, your purpose, you destiny and they come in all shapes and sizes. This is why we need the shield AND the buckler.

You might be wondering why? Why me? Well the devil knows who to target, he doesn’t come after those who are already his. He doesn’t come after empty vessels either.  He knows that there is a level of anointing on your life and if he allows you to reach your full potential you will pose too much of a threat to the plans of hell. Do not be deceived or ignorant, the devil knows your purpose even more that you know it yourself – he has watched you and clocked you and deemed you as a threat!  Hence he is sending his assassins to target you with evil words, feelings of resentment , he’s trying to cripple you with self- doubt and  inferiority – anything that stops you from moving in your purpose.  You need to fight back!

Psalms 91:4 His faithful promises are your shield and buckler.

In this fight against spiritual warfare you’re going to need the shield and the buckler.

A shield is a large weapon of defence and can be used to deflect attacks coming from afar – these are the obvious types, they come from strangers, acquaintances maybe even work colleagues. Let’s just call it the outer circle. But what about when the devil tries to use someone close to you, a friend, family member or even someone in spiritual authority over you? What will you do when they start speaking evil words?  They may not even know why they are attacking you but we know – the devil works through weak and wounded people. They may have a crack. Sometimes people can be going through things in their own life where they are not on guard, that’s when the devil uses them to cause destruction and confusion to those in close combat. Remember Judas! He may send them to you to speak words of discouragement. If you are not careful you will think that the person is your enemy and you will try to cut them off.  #thebuckler

You’re going to need the buckler! The buckler is a smaller version of the shield  (up to 45cm in diameter) it can be used to deflect those attacks that come from people who are too close to home.

#theshieldandbuckler

Ask God to protect you from spiritual attacks, ask for wisdom to use the shield AND the buckler.  Resist the temptation to meditate on evil words and pray for the person that the devil is using.  Remember we do not wrestle against flesh and blood! #thebuckler

Psalms 91:10 No evil shall befall you nor shall any plague come near your dwelling for He shall give His angels charge over you!

In intense seasons of spiritual warfare you’re going to need the buckler.  #myshield #mybuckler

This is how I fight my battles”

During a recently intense season of spiritual warfare I have been fasting, praying, listening to faith building messages and gaining new revelation. When you go into a spiritual war you do not go in there alone, God says:  “I will be an enemy to your enemies and Iwill oppose those who oppose you.”Exodus 22:23. God takes it very seriously that the devil is trying to hinder you, it’s a very dangerous position to be in when the creator of the universe opposes you!

When you’re in the heat of battle this is not the time to sit down and be defeated, you have to literally go to war over the things that belong to you.  The things that the devil is fighting are likely to be the will of God.  Cleanse my spirit Lord!  Resist the devil and he will flee. He has to flee because no weapon formed against you is allowed to prosper. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord! Isaiah 54:17

The Merciful God of Prophecy:

“Stand forth says the Lord for you are on My battlefield. Take heed says the Living God for you are surely fighting against a defeated foe. Lift up your hands for I shall surely place a rod of victory into the palm of your hands. Resist him steadfast in the faith for though he shall come against you in one way he shall depart from you in seven different ways.”  Says the Lord.

To be spiritually gifted…

spiritual giftsGod has called us to a place of spiritual gifting!

#wewerecalledtothislife

It can be difficult to step out in these sceptical times and out rightly declare “I am a prophet” or to quite plainly state that “God spoke to me” or “God told me to tell you…” But God does speak to people, He does send messengers to speak to us in an audible voice. We have to know that God has called us to a place of spiritual gifting! Jesus did not die so that we could live an ordinary Christian life – go to church listen to sermons and go back home.

Jesus said in Mark 16:

“These signs will follow those that believe. In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”

#didyoulayhandsonthesick #didyoutelltheLordthankyou

When someone tells you that they are sick you may feel reluctant to lay hands on them and declare healing perhaps you fear rejection or perhaps you don’t want to seem ‘prideful.’ It’s not prideful to walk in your calling! We were called to this life! God’s promises are irrevocable and His Word does not return void.

Love – The Greatest Gift

1 Corinthians 12 v 8 – 10 talks about the gifts of the Spirit: “the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

However, 1 Corinthians 13 reminds us that “though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”

This means that regardless of what gifts the Holy Spirit empowers us to operate under; we must use them within the boundaries of love! Love is the Greatest Gift. Jesus didn’t heal people so that He could be known as a healer. Everything that Jesus did was out of love.

We shouldn’t be scared to walk in the gifts of the spirit lest people accuse us of being ‘too much,’ too spiritual’ or ‘too something else,’ on the contrary we were called to this life.

#bespirituallygifted #yourgift #makesroom

Why do we feel that we must explain away our gifts in order to show humility? To walk in your calling is not a prideful thing neither is it something that must be hidden. You are the light of the world! A city that is set upon a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14)

I remember a couple of years ago I was at a conference and a prophet spoke to me about my life – he gave me specific and detailed words of knowledge that helped me find my purpose. He didn’t just say “serve God” or “be blessed.” He gave me specific guidance and direction that could only have been known by the Spirit of God because I never met him before that day.  God wants us to be empowered and equipped to walk boldly in the direction of our calling. Sometimes God sends people to help us along the way. There’s nothing wrong with that.

This does not mean that we walk in blindness believing everything we hear: “Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits , whether they are of God; because many false prophets  have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

The intention of this scripture is for us to be wise. When someone gives you a word does your spirit bear witness? You have to be able to bear witness. These days when people don’t understand spiritual things they start saying ‘your too much.’ There’s nothing too much about it we were called to this life! Don’t be afraid to walk in your calling! This is what God wants!

#calledtothis #wecantlose

“He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, Saying, “Do not touch my anointed ones; And do My prophets no harm”(Psalms 105 v 14 -15)

We have to know that – #we #were #called #to #this #life

What if God wants to use you to speak a word of knowledge to someone – will you do it? Do you have enough faith to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit or have you settled for the ordinary?

Are you ready for the supernatural?

I’m looking forward to 2018 more events and conferences about the gifts of the spirit and walking into purpose. Stay tuned for updates.

Jealousy: What do you want from me?

It’s February 2018 – the Season of Elevation has begun. However with this season on the rise there is something that has been pressing on my heart; we need to discuss  and that is this issue of jealousy. This is not about being prideful or paranoid this is about understanding the truth – ever got the feeling that someone was jealous of you? People can be jealous of you over things that you never even gave a second thought to. When God starts to elevate you certain people will not be able to handle it; let’s just face it now- there are some people who will just simply not know what to do with themselves.

What do you do when God says “I’m about to elevate you in the midst of an arena?”

You keep it real and prepare for jealousy. We can’t roll through 2018 with our heads in cuckoo land!

I’ve been studying Shakespeare’s Othello with my Year 9 class and there is a famous line in there when Iago the villain is talking to Othello and he says, “Oh beware my Lord of jealousy for it is the green-eyed  monster that doth mock the meat it feeds on.” Jealousy leads to the downfall of our tragic hero; Othello. What Shakespeare is saying here is that jealousy eats up the person that suffers from it.

However, I want to propose that jealousy  does a lot more than that. I’m taking this from a different angle. It can be a very disheartening experience to know that someone is jealous of you. This can be especially so if through no prior thought of your own God decides to elevate you into a particular place; it could be a new job, a ministry, a relationship even something as simple as a new item of clothing. For certain people to watch you be elevated or for something to go well for you it literally eats them up inside. This is sad but we have to understand that it’s true. Why am I talking about this now? Because there are people reading this and I am telling you that God wants to prosper you! He wants to PROSPER you. In ways that you can’t even fully imagine yet. And there are people that will be jealous. Now is the time to discern who they are; escort them to the balcony and pray for them from the stage.

In Corinthians 16:9 Paul the Apostle says ‘a great and effectual door is opened unto me and there are also many adversaries!’

#thebalcolny #and #thestage

We have to be discerning in this season; do not allow people to blame their jealousy on you. Remember you did not put yourself in any position it was GOD that elevated you. How do I know this? Because Psalms 75 says: “exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one and exalts another.”

They may be jealous of you, they may try and find fault in what God has called you to do but what we have to understand is that exaltation comes from the north.

Do not be discouraged when they try and find fault in your ministry, your position or whatever hemisphere God has used to elevate you. I say ‘when’ so that it does not come as a shock to you and you start to doubt  yourself or your capabilities in that place. Remember God does not call the qualified but he qualifies the called!

“He resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

We need to be discerning in this hour; do not be deceived, it can be very disheartening to know that there are people out there that just cannot be happy for you. We must not take this thing personally. Oftentimes this type of jealousy stems from a deep rooted insecurity that exists within that individual. They may disguise it as something else by desperately trying to find some kind of fault in something that you are doing. But we need to see through their words and look at their spirit. Pray for them and pray for eyes to see in the Spirit. If they cannot come to you with something constructive and backed up by the Word of God then you have to ask yourself- What Spirit are they of? This is for when they start trying to guise their issue as something other than what it is.

#jealousy #whatdoyouwantfromme

That’s when you resort to the balcony and the stairs. #escortthem

God will prepare a table before you in the PRESENCE of your enemies – Psalms 23:5.

It’s February 2018; the season of elevation and we have to face this reality. Even Jesus had to deal with jealousy. When the chief scribes arrested him they tried to find some kind of fault of which to accuse him of but they found none. Just like I said before; it is a characteristic of jealousy to try and find fault in the person; anything they can to justify their feelings.

Jesus let His excellence silence His haters! In this season do not get caught up worrying about the schemes of man. Make sure you do not fall foul to this spirit either. Fix your eyes on God’s will and purpose for your life. Don’t look to the left; don’t look to the right just keep looking ahead.

Beware my ladies of jealousy for it is a green eyed monster that doth mock the meat it feeds on! I decree and declare that discouragement shall not come near your dwelling. God has called you, equipped you and destined you for greatness. Don’t let anyone dim your light. Queen.

The Merciful God of Prophecy

“I will cause you to flourish; I cause the righteous to flourish. Surely I have planted you as a tree by the sides of the living waters and I will cause you to bear fruit in your season. Only be steadfast and diligent; do not be envious of the boastful; do not fret when you see the man who appears to prosper in his way for I take the wealth of the wicked and store it up for the righteous.” Says the Lord

Living in 2018 – The Daniel Anointing!

It’s 2018; it’s a new season – remember seasons change but God is in every season! I really do believe that God wants to prosper us in this season but let’s not be ignorant. Let’s step into 2018 prepared for the battle:

There is a great open door before us but there are also many adversaries – 1 Cor 16:9.

Oftentimes when we’re on an assignment or doing something for God people and situations try and rise up attempting to cause an obstruction. Sometimes people may want to find fault or find a way to trip us up so that our assignments do not come to fruition – #manyadversaries! Let’s not stroll through 2018 with our eyes wide shut. We’re going to need to walk in wisdom – we need the Daniel anointing. Arguably there are many facets to the Daniel anointing, but Daniel had an excellent spirit!

Daniel was gifted and highly favoured. God gave him knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams (Daniel 1:17). One day the king had a dream that none of the magicians of the land could interpret. But Daniel was faithful and close to God – he had more wisdom than the soothsayers – he prayed and God gave him the interpretation. The king was so impressed that he promoted Daniel and his friends; he made Daniel ruler over the whole province of Babylon. Later on in Daniel 6 King Darius set 120 satraps over the kingdom, over these satraps he appointed 3 governors of which Daniel was one. But Daniel distinguished himself apart from all of the satraps and governors because an “excellent spirit” was within him. As a result the king wanted to set Daniel over the whole realm. He wanted to prosper him. God wants to prosper you!

Do you think that the satraps and governors were happy to sit by and watch Daniel prosper? #manyadversaries

When plots fail:

In verse 4 they sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom. In other words they were trying to find some fault in him to prevent him from getting promoted to rule over the whole realm. But -verse 4 continues- they could find no fault or charge because he was faithful nor was their any error or fault found in him. We know from Daniel 5:12 that Daniel had an excellent spirit. #danielanointing

When God wants to prosper you it may be difficult for people around you to accept or understand how or why. They may try to find fault within you or seek out some way to trip you up – pray for an excellent spirit that you may be found blameless.

#plotsfail #plotsalwaysfail #truthprevails

The Merciful God of prophecy:

Behold I know your works and I have set now before you an open door that no man can shut! For I have spoken and I have named it and I have called it “The open door.” When you see the open door you must walk through for I will let no man shut the door on you.

I’m looking forward to 2018 – the year of prosperity!!!!!

“She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”

How do you recognise the place of God?(My friend Joe)

Ever feel like running away? One second; before your get your trainers on and bolt for the door; take a step back because you could be running from the place of God. This was me not too long ago; something happened that got me so annoyed that I started applying for new jobs; I was determined to get out as quick as possible so I asked God for favour and for Him to move me somewhere that I could make a greater impact. Before I got into this teaching game God told me that I was going to impact a generation of young people; so when this annoyance occurred I started asking Him to show me who, where and how I could make this impact because clearly I was in the wrong place (so I thought). I knew that I didn’t want to go back to contracting so I quickly cancelled my appointment to go and register at an efficient recruitment agency that conveniently had many vacancies in the surrounding areas!

I continued to pray about this; when I went to church my pastor preached a timely sermon, he said that “some of the worst decisions people make are when they are angry.” God says “the discretion of a man makes him slow to anger and his glory is to overlook a transgression.”  Better to overlook the offense of another than to end up making a decision in anger!

As I began to pray about this situation I met a man called Joe who taught me how to recognise the place of God. Joe had a dream; in His dream God showed him that one day He was going to be a great ruler. Not long after that he ended up being betrayed by his siblings and living with a stranger in a far place. Joe had to overlook the transgression of his brothers because otherwise he would have ended up angry at everyone around him. He would have stayed bitter at his brothers for their betrayal and eventually bitter at God for allowing it to happen. Even when Joe was living with the stranger in a far place he recognised that He was in the place of God; everything he did God caused it to prosper and He found favour in the sight of the stranger.

Later on the stranger’s wife tried to make a move on Joe; she was clearly suffering from a misdirected sense of self-worth. Well this is what happened to my friend Joe, the stranger’s wife tried to make a move on him but he, being a righteous man told her “no”. Some people don’t handle rejection very well at all; so the woman turned on Joe and ran him out of his place – the place of God!  She started questioning Joe’s character; all because he rejected her.  She tried to pursue him and when he told her “no” she started causing trouble for him. The woman lied to her husband and made out like Joe tried to pursue her. As a result Joe ended up in prison. But he was still in the place of God and found favour in the sight of the prison guard. When Joe was in prison he was able to develop his gifts and began interpreting the prisoner’s dreams. Everywhere Joe went God was with him.

Joe’s story made me realise something; the place of God is not subject to the will of man – it’s all about being in the presence of God. You see no man has the power to hinder or manipulate Gods will for your life! Even when Joe was put in prison – through no fault of his own – he was still in the place of God. Sometimes we can get into situations and focus on the fact that someone has done us wrong; we shouldn‘t be in this place, this job, this environment, this situation and our first instinct is to run. But I’ve come to realise; that is the wrong approach. It actually doesn’t matter what people do to you ; what matters is that you recognise the place of God . Pray for a heart that recognises the place of God – in the place of God there is deliverance, there is peace, there is favour.

God made you a promise; now it looks like everything is falling apart and people are trying to attack you from all different angles? That doesn’t mean that you are no longer in the place of God. God says “My thoughts are not Your thoughts and My ways are not your ways.” His ways are higher than ours. Sometimes God will allow people to bring you low so that He can lift you high. Isn’t that what Jesus did? He was wounded for our transgressions and beaten for our faults; Jesus hung on a cross next to a thief – he lived an innocent life and died a painful death. But He rose in glory, rose in victory and now sits down at the right hand of God. All along Jesus stayed in the place of God.

We can learn so much from my friend Joe – don’t be too quick to run from situations because you could be attempting to run from the place of God. I’m grateful to Joe for sharing His story in Genesis 37 – 50. It stopped me from making a decision based on emotions.  Joe ended his story with this very important statement: “But do not fear, for I am in the place of God. As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”

The place of God is not recognised by the absence of affliction, some people think that as soon as a problem arises they are not in the place of God and it’s time to run! That’s not necessarily the case because the bible says, “many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivers them out of them all.” Often times we get ready to run away just before the “but” kicks in. In other words many are the afflictions … and then we’re out. We get ready to leave way too soon; before we even get to experience the Lord’s deliverance. God is not a man and He can’t lie – oftentimes we just need to stay in the affliction and allow God to perform His miracles.

How to recognise the place of God? I asked God to help me gain perspective; when you feel like running; stop and gain perspective – you’re gonna watch God perform miracles for you!  You will recognise the place of God because the place of God is so full of the favour of the Lord.

Hope you enjoyed reading, until next time!

The Paranoid Wife

So let me ask you a rhetorical question; has Jesus ever let you down? #rhetorical question. This message is about the paranoid wife, this is the woman that does not trust her husband – she is constantly on the look out and wondering whether or not he is going to let her down. The reason why she is so paranoid may be unclear – perhaps he has let her down before and now she just expects it? Or perhaps it is an internal issue; insecurity; abandonment or low self-esteem. These are some of the issues that we tackled at the Ladies in Waiting Conference a couple weeks ago!

The word “paranoid” is an adjective which means to be extremely nervous or worried. Sometimes people become paranoid because of past experiences, sometimes its just an internal struggle. However it came about; this is one of the things that can prevent a woman from walking into her purpose. God has a purpose that he wants us to live out. He has dreams and plans and places that he wants us to go. But God says we should “be anxious for nothing” (Philippians 4:6).

Back to my question: Has Jesus ever let you down? #rhetorical question

Jesus said that the church is His “bride.”  Furthermore, in Isaiah 54:5 the bible says: “for your maker is your Husband; the Lord of hosts is His name and your redeemer is the Holy one of Israel, He is called the God of the whole earth.” Sometimes we can look at our lives and compare it to other’s or we can have doubts  based on our own preconceptions of where we think that we should be as opposed to where God wants us to be at any given time. This type of worrying can lead to paranoia. #yourmakerisyourhusband

We need to trust Jesus – there’s no reason to be paranoid because Jesus has never let anyone down; He can’t, it’s impossible.

Jesus has a testimony: “I’ve never let anyone down.”

When Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane and on His way to the cross, He said, “If it is possible let this cup pass from me, nevertheless not my will but Your will be done.” Even at his most painful state Jesus still said “nevertheless,” because it’s part of His testimony He will never let anyone down.

“For your maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name and Your redeemer is the Holy one of Israel, He is called the God of the whole earth.”

We have to trust Jesus!!

My Testimony: Teacher Diaries

So today is officially the first day of the summer holidays! Woop Woop! I made it through my first year of teaching. When people ask me how’s work I used to say “its alright just started a new contract” but now I tell them its great it’s the holidays 🙂

#teacherdiaries  #whenIwasaschoolteacher

I remember when I first started this new career last summer and one of the newly qualified teachers was saying that this year is going to be the hardest thing you”ll ever have to do! He wasn’t exaggerating – being a teacher is not like any other job, especially for me coming straight in having never worked in a school before. This whole year has been a season of acceleration for me; I feel like I leant so much in such a short space of time.

One of the perks of the jobs is  the fact that we get frequent holidays but boy do we need them! I don’t think anyone can survive more than 7 weeks of teaching without having a break. Don’t get me wrong, teaching is hard work but it’s also very rewarding especially when you get to see the results of your efforts, when you get to see the next generation make progress and take steps towards achieving their dreams. It really is the best job in the world.

When I first sent off my application I remember I was sitting down in a café in Greenwich on a lunch break from one of my waitressing shifts; when I finally finished the application and pressed send I remember saying to myself “my whole life is about to change!”  Needless to say that is exactly what happened; this year has been full of tests and trials but I made it through. I finished on a high and now I’m a newly qualified teacher (NQT) – a lot can happen in a year!

When you step out in faith you may find yourself doing things that you never thought that you would do! It’s been a great year. I have many stories and testimonies to share with you … Diaries of a Visionary Part 2 coming soon!!!!

It’s not always easy to step out in faith but when you do it’s so worth it; the start of a great adventure.

I thank God that I was in a place where I could hear Him telling me what steps to take next.

#wheniwasaschoolteacher #teacherdiaries #summerfun

If you are reading this post then I hope that you are in a place right now where you can hear God speak because God wants to order your steps too. Are you ready to listen and step out on faith?

Jeremiah 29:13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Hope you have a great summer – I sure will!

Silly Women

It’s important to have purpose and not just be a silly woman!

#sillywomen #firstlove

I’ve come to realise; a lot of women are falling into this trap of  idolizing other peoples lives – don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be married and have children –but when you start saying “by any means necessary,” that’s when it becomes a problem that’s when you become – a silly woman.

#ineffectiveness #desperation #sillywomen

The silly women are not just those with that “by any means necessary” mindset but also the ones that are sitting down being ineffective for God because their whole focus is now just on that one aspect of life. God has made all things beautiful in His time. Don’t go rushing into anything before you end up in some dodgy predicament sitting down in silence.

Who is this silly woman anyway? Well, the woman in Proverbs 31 ‘opened her mouth with wisdom.’ The antonym of wisdom is folly! So you will recognise a silly woman when she opens her mouth with folly.

#sillywomen

Don’t idolise anyone, many women are just idolizing situations that they don’t even know anything about. Be content in Jesus and as you continue to do that “it will all come together.”  This is part of a prophecy that I got from a gifted preacher that came to visit my church earlier on this year; I wanted to share it because often times prophecies given to one can apply to all:

The merciful God of Prophecy

“I am zealous for thee and I am jealous for thee to be my first love saith God and serve in My house, and as you continue to do that it will all come together because I am the Lord and I have ordained it!” saith God.

The word ‘zealous’ means to be passionate, obsessive and fanatical; that’s how much God wants you to be His first love! God says He is zealous for you to be His first love! Many women have forgotten their place. Many women are sitting down pondering and idolizing other peoples situations. You don’t even know the ins and outs of their circumstance. Don’t be a silly woman!

  • God says He’s zealous for you to serve in His house!
  • God says He’s jealous for you to be His first love.
  • God says it will all come together.

Romans 8v28: He makes all things work together for good for those who love Him and are the called according to His purpose.

In this passage of Scripture the Word “called” means to be named or to be baptised according to the purpose of God. God is talking directly to us; He is saying that if you love Him and walk in His purpose then He will cause all things to work together for your good! Not some things but “all” things. In order to claim this promise you have to be certain that where you are right now is exactly where God wants you to be.

I believe this Word can be applied in many areas of life but in particular an area that has caused many women to fall off track is this area of marriage. I’ve come across some silly women in my time too! You get some who think that they are better than you because they are married; some who go to great extents to get themselves married and some who just sit down fighting for men!

#itsallsilly #sillywomen

Time is ticking?

That may be so but great peace comes when you walk with God – He does everything in His time. So if you’re reading this I don’t want you to start thinking ok so you’re getting close to 30 or maybe even 35 so now it’s time  for “desperation” to kick in. No! God is a God of destiny and not desperation. God will train you up for ten years just to get you to one year of breakthrough. He is a God of the eleventh hour and He has made all things beautiful in His time. It’s written in Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time: also He has put eternity in men’s hearts, so that no man can find out the work that God does from the beginning to the end.”

God doesn’t always tell us what He’s doing and when but I know that He’s about to blow your mind.

#firstlove #Godsays

God says He wants you to be His first love!! Do not sit down pondering about anyone else’s life – don’t be that women sitting down fighting for a man that’s not even fighting for you! Don’t be a silly woman.

Our God, the Maker of heaven and earth says “I am zealous for you to be My first love and serve in My house.”

Hope you this message inspired you – walk in your purpose!

Heartache

What do you do when your heart starts to ache? Do you just give up and throw in the towel or do you push through the pain and keep going? What is heartache anyway?

The dictionary definition of heartache is emotional pain or distress; sorrow; grief; anguish. How do you deal with these things?

#heartache #emotionalpain #grief #distress

So the other day I went on a 5K park run with a friend of mine. I haven’t been running for a while so I was a bit out of practice, but anyways …we decided to do the run together. About 1.5 km into the race I felt like I was fighting to breathe, my mind was telling me that I couldn’t do it, I should just quit and I don’t have enough energy for this. This is what I call heartache! As I started to slow down I was telling myself (and my friend who I was running with) that it was too much; I can’t run for 5K; I’m going to quit – but she encouraged me and we kept going.

Then on the second lap, now almost 3K into the race, it happened again – I felt like I couldn’t breathe so I told my friend to go ahead without me and I’ll meet her at the finish line (I just wanted to walk in peace lol). But again she wasn’t having it, she said we can walk for 30 seconds then we need to run again. Every time I tried to stop running she encouraged me to keep going. So after a couple more 30 second walks we kept running – when we got to the last lap my friend told me that she was going to sprint just before the finish line so I followed her and we didn’t stop until we got to the end. I was so happy to have finished it; I looked back at the times I wanted to quit. That’s what heartache does to you, it makes you want to give up – you start telling yourself “I can’t do this anymore.” But really ..you can!

What is causing you pain and heartache today? What is causing you to feel like quitting? Someone offended you? Jesus said forgive them! People gossiping about you?  Jesus said no weapon!

#noweapon #plotsfail

The motions that I went through when trying to run the race makes me think of The Race of Faith. This Christian race is like a marathon! We’re going to need endurance in order to finish this one. Things might happen along the way that cause you pain and heartache even to the point of wanting to quit but you have to keep going . We might get to a point where we are literally fighting to breathe, it’s ok to slow down and catch your breath but it’s never ok to quit.

On the second lap of the race as we were going past the finish line my friend turned and said to me “we definitely can’t stop here.” This was the part where all the people who finished early and the park run organisers were standing by watching and cheering us on . It’s harder to give up when you know that people are watching you – this is how we have to run this Race of Faith knowing that the Hosts of Heaven are watching us and counting on us to get to the finish line:

“…since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witness’, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith…” Hebrews 12: 1-2

Endurance is a noun, it is the capacity to withstand an unpleasant or difficult process without giving way. One of the synonyms of endurance is forbearing. Forbearance means patience, self- control , restraint and tolerance.

Spiritual heartache could be things such as fear, doubt, rejection, offence.

This means that if we want to finish this race we are going to have to restrain ourselves in the face of offence; we’re may have to tolerate some difficult people; we’re going to have to exercise self-control in situations of provocation and we’re going to need patience in order to see the plans and the promises of God come to fruition.

So what do you do when you’re suffering from heartache? You run with endurance! I’m talking about heartache! What do you do when people offend you – Jesus said forgive them!

No weapon formed against you shall prevail, and every tongue that rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication is from me.” declares the Lord. Isaiah 54:17

#whenitsjustnoise #keepgoing #runwithendurance #noweapon

Run with endurance … don’t give up!

The merciful God of Prophecy

I have equipped you! Take hold of your shield and your buckler and pick up the weapons of your warfare, for the weapons of your warfare are not carnal but they are spiritual, for pulling down strong holds and every high thing that seeks to exalt itself against the mind of God. Now take your position and stand and see the salvation of the Lord for I am mighty and all – powerful and all knowing.” Says the Lord.

Let’s run with endurance

#Have a great week.
