The Entangler

I’ve come across a certain type of man… The Entangler, if you’re not careful he will entangle you in the destructive affairs of his life: lies, deception and confusion.  This is the man whose status is set to ‘otherwise engaged’ but he’s still looking for something!  I call him The Entangler because his aim is to get you wrapped up in the web of his discontented life.

There are levels! You have to be careful because he may try to entangle you by association.

In one of my blogs I wrote about the Jezebel Spirit – well this is the male counter-part – the entangler. The lips of the adulterous man drips honey! (Proverbs – I changed woman to man!)

Imagine a man enquiring as to whether a woman is interested in him when his status is set to engaged or married.  Some might ask; why are you enquiring as to whether someone is interested in you if your status is set to otherwise engaged?

Because…the lips of an adulterous man drips honey… many people rush into marriage without the understanding that Jesus set the bar high! Matthew 5:28 says that if a man looks at a woman with lustful intent then he has already committed adultery in his heart.  Jesus wasn’t saying that it is the same act; He was saying that it is the same root! It’s a sin that originates in the heart.  We can’t control what goes on in someone else’s heart – but we have to be careful of the entangler.

So … I’ve come across a certain type of man.  He may just look like a regular guy; they come in all shapes and disguises. A wise man once told me – not everyone that says “God, God, is sent by God!”   That’s one of the entanglers favourite disguises; the God-fearing family man.

So I’ve come across a certain type of man, he’s an entangler and he wants to get people entangled in his web of discontented confusion…  I often wonder what goes through certain men’s mind.

“Noone engaged in warfare entangles himself in the affairs of this life that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier” 2 Timothy 2:4 #Jesussetthebarhigh #thentangler

Who is this man? Some might ask; why is he enquiring as to whether someone is interested in him when his status is set to otherwise engaged?  Because he’s entangled in the affairs of this life.  We need soldiers not entanglers!

The verb ‘entangle’ means to catch, to trap and to ensnare; it is the antonym of freedom. This means that the aim of the entangler is to take away your freedom. Freedom is a gift from God.

What do you do at Diaries of a Visionary? #wespeakthetruth #wewriteforGod #weinspiredreams

The entangler targets a particular type of woman; well at least that’s how he perceives you to be. The entangler has an agenda, he cannot think straight because he is driven by lust and a desire to fill the void that is missing in his life: #themissinggap #praywithoutceasing. The entangler craves female attention and will go to great lengths to obtain it. His usual victims are desperate and insecure women.  By victim I mean those who fall into the trap. Sometimes God uses people to expose things – is He going to send angels?

This is why you need to clothe yourself with strength like the bible says in Proverbs 31

“Strength and honour are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come.” – Proverbs 31:25

How do you identify the entangler?

  • Fidgety character
  • Status is set to otherwise engaged
  • Wandering eyes
  • Could be religious
  • Pray and God will show you!

The most important thing to do is to pray because God is faithful – a lesson I have learnt through the years of my salvation. Things are not always what they seem so pray about everyone you meet …God is just and faithful to expose things and guide you in the way in which you should go.

#praywithoutceasing #Godexposespeople #noweapon #sometimesiseethings

Integrity where you at?  Faithfulness where you at?

Ladies – God forbid that you end up with this type of man:

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.  Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart!”  Psalms 37:3

Spiritual Wisdom

Oftentimes  poor decision-making skills stem from a lack of wisdom.

Wisdom is a noun; it means the quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgement.

Here I’m not talking about the ordinary wisdom of man that equates to knowledge. That kinda wisdom may lead you to get a good job, buy a nice house and put some money away for a rainy day. That wisdom can even equate to material success; but that doesn’t have the same qualities as spiritual wisdom.

The adjective “spiritual ” means a quality that affects the human spirit or soul and not just material things. We need ‘Spiritual Wisdom’ to make decisons with foresight.

God says the wisdom of man is foolishness: 1 Corinthians 3:20 “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise that they are futile.”

I wrote about wisdom early last year when I said: “Wisdom is a free gift.”

This year I’ve been asking God for Spiritual Wisdom and foresight. We need it to get through the issues of life.  Spiritual wisdom will guard you from offence; you’ll be able to see things for what they are – you’ll be able to see things the way that God sees them.  Many people today are saying and doing things due to a lack of wisdom. Spiritual wisdom comes from God and we need it to make destiny altering decisions.

Sometimes people say and do things that you may find strange or confusing; before you get offended pray for wisdom!
Maybe they’re acting like that because they think it’s normal.
“If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach” (1 James 1:5).

#spirirtualwisdom #comesfromGod #pray

I’m talking about spiritual wisdom; the kind that comes from God: think about the wisdom of King Solomon; the wisdom of Daniel and the wisdom of Abigail (1 Samuel 25).

The wisdom of Abigail saved her family from destruction. Abigail didn’t just sit down in silence and do nothing when her family was about to be destroyed by King David. She opened her mouth with wisdom like the woman in Proverbs 31.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her  tongue is the law of kindness” ~ Proverbs 31:26.

Maybe God is placing you in a position where you can make a difference. Ask for wisdom to make the right decisions.

Spiritual wisdom…

In 1 Kings 3:16-28, King Solomon had to make a difficult decision. This is a well known story about two women who were living together and both had babies. One of the babies died in  their sleep because the mother layed on the baby; so the mother of the dead baby swapped the babies around. When the mother awoke she saw the dead baby and knew that it wasn’t hers. King Solomon had to make a decision as both women were claiming to be the mother of the baby that was alive. He offered to cut the baby in half and give half to one and half to the other; immediately one of the women cried out and said let the other woman have the baby. King Solomon knew that that woman who cried out must be the mother and he gave her the child.

King Solomon was a wise man. He had the wisdom of God that allowed him to administer justice. We need Spiritual Wisdom and it comes from God.

It’s time to stop looking left and right for answers and time to start looking up.

So did you enter with thanksgiving?

I don’t know about you but  2016 was an amazing year! God took me through the highs and lows; mountains and valleys; it was a rollercoaster year. When I entered 2016 I had a list of requests that I made known to God. If you look at my very first blog post you will see that I called 2016 many things, but amongst them I called it, “the year of the Lords favour”. When things change suddenly – it’s called favour! My life took a sudden change for the better in 2016. God opened doors that no man can shut (Rev 3:8) – and I know He’ll do it again!

When the year ended all I could pray was a prayer of thanksgiving. If you know that God was with you in 2016 – then tell the Lord thank you! #theyearoftheLordsfavour #stability #increase #transformation

Psalms 100:4 says “enter His gates with thanksgiving. And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

At the beginning of last year I was praying for many things; one of them was direction & stability in my career and finances. In 2016, God gave me a whole new career and a whole new outlook on life. It wasn’t an easy journey, but one that was full of tests and triumphs. When I look at 2016 I often wonder; did all of this happen in one year? I started off with no job, then I became a waitress, then I ended the year as an English teacher and an author. You can read the full story in my first book “Diaries of a Visionary – Inspiring Dreams,” which is available to purchase on Amazon.

Oftentimes we come to God with a list of things that we would like to see happen in our lives, our prayers consist of: God can you do this, God can I have that, request, request, request! But do we ever just take the time to say thank you?

#enterwiththanksgiving #Hewhopromisedus #isfaithful #telltheLordthankyou

At the beginning of 2017 I started praying and thanking God for all that He had done in my life and everything that He was going to do. I didn’t even know what to ask for it was just a prayer of thanksgiving. God is faithful.

Another one of my prayers from 2016 was the ability to pray about everything and worry about nothing. In 2016 I was tested in every which way. I even had to quit the waitressing job because they kept trying to get me to work in a bar, plus I was getting tired. #toomuch

Not long after that, I ended up almost getting evicted due to rent arrears. I had no option but to smile, pray and trust God. A couple days after I received the letter from the court about my eviction hearing, a friend of mine was told she had to move out of her flat because the owner wanted it back; the Lord works in mysterious ways because she ended up moving into my empty room, and the money she paid for her deposit and rent was enough to cancel my arrears and the court case. The favour didn’t stop there; I asked God for a financial breakthrough and the flood began. The following week I received a cheque in the post from a personal injury claim; all of a sudden the other party decided to offer me a settlement figure. The following week I received another outstanding cheque from my insurers. The season of debt was over; it was nothing short of an answered prayer. This all happened in July – the same month that I got my book published – then I got a high-paying summer job in August and I started my teaching job in September. All in a year! When things change suddenly, it’s called favour! Tell the Lord thank you.

By the time it got to December 2016 I was so overwhelmed by how far God had brought me and all the things that I saw Him do. I just had to enter the New Year with thanksgiving!

#telltheLord #thankyou

I have so many stories, antics and life lessons to share about 2016 but the first one is that we don’t always have to come to God with requests; sometimes we just need to enter with thanksgiving. 2017; the year of jubilee; the season of acceleration; the year of victory; the year of breakthrough; are you ready for 2017? Did you enter with thanksgiving?

#enterwiththanksgiving #jubilee #victory #acceleration #2017 #letsgo #telltheLordthankyou

I’m looking forward to 2017, the seasons of acceleration, stay tuned for updates hope you found this message uplifting.

Captured and Delivered! (speech by T.Eduvie)

For those of you who missed the Book Launch see below for one of the fantastic and well crafted speeches of the evening….I know it has been a while since I’ve posted but I will update you soon and very soon.

Happy reading 🙂

Diaries of Visionary

This book is easy reading and speaks of things that are close to the heart of many, for example what is in your future? Job and career aspirations, how long is long when waiting for a spouse? Where is my life going? What is my purpose in life?

This book has profound and life changing insights into what having a real relationship with God can do regardless of life’s circumstance.

I have known Des for about 9 years now.  I have seen a stark transition in her from babe in Christ to a confident woman of God, handling real spiritual issues in a Christ like manner, with carnality fading away.

It is a magnificent thing to accomplish a great feat for Christ, to be instigator of something that has the ability to affect the life of another in a positive way and invoke Godly destiny’s, to be a source to mending the brokenness in a person, to be a voice of comfort and a friend to a lonely soul.

Well my friend Des has done it!

She has looked over from the peak of a tremendous monument, having the sadness and restriction of limitation and short sightedness chasing her, and said to herself ‘should I leap?’. Wondering whether she’d fly high and soar like an eagle across wondrous skies and vast lands or fall cataclysmically, dropping like a lead balloon destined for ground.

Regardless of not knowing she leapt and to the Glory of God she flew high and swooped into purpose with creativity powerfully unleashed…

and out of this came Diaries of Visionary …

… and a great visionary is our Des, she caved not at the voice of uncertainty and yielded not to the wickedness of doubt. Des believed in a dream, in her dream.  A dream that started off as a thought and a want, and expanded and prospered as she gave and trusted it with God.

God is faithful to give us trials, in order to mould us, shape us and show us ourselves. During these trials we may wither and wilt or blossom and flourish. Des most definitely blossomed and flourished, and became fortified in the Lord.  I could literally see her thought process become more spiritual as she stopped depending on the voice of man and sought the Voice of her Maker, Jesus Christ in His Holy Word, prayer and Godly counsel.

One of my favourite chapters in the book is Faith: Walking on Water.
For me this encapsulates Des’ journey thus far.
To have faith whilst looking into murky waters, seeing good things in dark times, struggling but functioning as normal, knowing the Hope inside is able and is perfecting the work He has started.
*This is the kind of faith that lets you walk on water.*

Des is an inspiration and I have no doubt she will do more great things to bring God Glory.

In Jesus name.

*Dreamers dream, writers write.*

A dream that has been made a reality, a thought in a mind of an unsuspecting person, captured, developed, delivered … *Diaries of Visionary.*

God is speaking …what do I do now?

What do you do when God gives you a dream?

Earlier on this year I started writing. I had so many stories and situations that had happened in my life spanning across the years. In January I just sat down and started writing, I wrote my first two blog posts overnight and published them in the morning. That is where this journey began. I have also been praying and talking about writing a book…I didn’t know what to write about or what to call it. So I prayed until God answered.

“Diaries of a Visionary started off as a thought, the thought become a blog and the blog transpired into a book ~ a collection of bestsellers”

In April 2016 I got the inspiration to write this book, I called it Diaries of a Visionary ~ Inspiring Dreams. The other day someone asked me where I got this inspiration from…well all good inspiration comes from God because he is the Great Inspirer and the Almighty Enabler!!!!!

What do you do when God is speaking, you listen and obey. #liveyourdreams

In April this year, God opened a door for me to work with a Christian book publisher based in Maitland, Florida called Xulon Press. I stepped out in a faith one step at a time. I wasn’t working at the time, I remember telling the publishers that once I get a job I will be able to start the process of publishing this book. Whilst I was at home one afternoon, I was listening to a Heather Lindsey video on You Tube entitled ‘Are you doing what God told you to do?” She was basically talking about when God tells you to do something and you start making excuses, once I get more money, once I get more social media followers and so on and so on…. This message spoke to me, I felt like I was making an excuse not to publish my book, I was waiting for a job rather than just stepping out in faith.  Later on that day I emailed the publishers and told them that I was going to step out in faith and publish this book. They said that they were going to step out in faith with me and so the venture began. I paid them an initial amount to begin working on the book and my next payment was not due until the end of July, they said if for any reason I could not make a payment in July they would move it to August.#Godisgood

This was me taking the first step. . .

Psalms 37:23 – the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.

My book was published at the end of July 2016, I finally got a job in August 2016, if I had waited for the job, I would probably still be waiting. Sometimes God just wants us to trust Him. Faith is when you take the first step even when you cannot see the rest of the staircase.

“Surround yourself with people who belive in your dreams”

The Whole Armour

I have come to realise, some people cannot control their mouths, what can we do? Are we supposed to live in a state of constant conflict and offence. Are we supposed to avoid certain people completely? That can’t be the right approach because what if one day you get offended in a relationship that you cannot severe. What will you do?

I’ve developed a strategy for dealing with this kind of situation I call it ‘dealing with the devil.’

The first thing I’ve come to realise is that oftentimes the person we are in conflict with is not the real enemy at all:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

The reality is, some people cannot control their mouths, some people speak words of death, some people cannot rest without knowing information that doesn’t concern them. #busybodies

#whentheycantcontroltheirmouths #weneedthewholearmour #sometimespray

So we’re not wrestling against flesh and blood, we’re wrestling against principalities and powers. We have to come to a place where we accept the fact that, we cannot change people, we ourselves are not perfect so how can we attempt to change another human being. God is perfect and only God can change a person.

How do I deal with a person that constantly speaks negative words?

A work colleague asked me the other day how she should deal with a person that constantly speaks negative words. I wrote about this is my blog post ‘My Words are Spirit and they are Life’ back in January – be careful what you set before your ears. Don’t just sit down listening to nonsense.

The same way God uses people to speak His Words of Life, the devil can use people to speak words of death. The person that cannot control their mouth may not even realise that they are speaking words of death, or maybe they do, maybe they just can’t control their mouth. What can we do?

One day they will have to give an account, we will all have to give an account:

“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it on the day of judgement.” (Matthew 12:36)

If they can’t control their mouth #thatstheirbusiness #keepyourheartright #judgementdayiscoming

Sometimes I just have to let certain words fall to the ground… One day we will all have to give an account. #judgementday

I always pray and ask God to help me discern His voice in the midst of every situation. We have to come to a place where we are able to recognise the voice of God and shut down anything that is contrary. JESUS calls Himself the Good Shepherd and he said his sheep will hear His voice…”They will hear my voice and there will be one flock and one shepherd (John 10:16).

#mysheephearmyvoice #whentheycantcontroltheirmouths

Let me break down the solution to the fight against “spiritual wickedness in high places”, it is nicely laid out in Ephesians 6:14 -18. We must put on the ‘Full Armour of God.’

There are many components to this armour but the bible says ABOVE ALL, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16).

***Take up the SHIELD OF FAITH – people that don’t have faith respond to every word that is spoken, they respond to every change in circumstance, one minute they’re saying one thing next minute they’re saying another. They judge every situation by the way that things look , that’s not faith. Faith is when you hold on to what God says no matter what the situation looks like, no matter what people around you are saying, no matter what the devil is saying through people that cannot control their mouths! – If you take up the shield of faith you can quench all of the fiery darts of the wicked one.

What does the devil want?

The devil wants your testimony, he want’s your Godly relationships to be broken and he wants your destiny to be destroyed – (to steal, and to kill, and to destroy – (John 10:10). But the devil isn’t even that smart, his strategy has already been exposed.

Next time you find yourself in a state of constant conflict with someone or some people that are speaking negative words or devising foolish schemes, step back and remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

Pray and keep the shield of FAITH in tact!!!   #dealingwiththedevil #thewholearmour

I wish you well! LET FREEDOM REIGN!!!

This week God showed me what it really means to walk in His freedom.

Luke 4:18: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind. To set at liberty those who are oppressed.

JESUS – The God that sets the captives free. #IWISHYOUWELL #LETFREEDOMREIGN

Do you know that when Jesus walked on earth He didn’t actually visit any prisons, when Jesus spoke about setting the captives free He spoke about those who were being oppressed in their minds.

We need to bring every thought into captivity and make it obey Christ! (2 Corin 10:5) #freeyourmind

You know when you think that you have gotten past a certain situation and then you see the person again and you become troubled? Not necessarily out of unforgiveness but just due to the fact that you just can’t get your head around the situation. I call this state of mind ‘oppression’ – Jesus wants to set people free!

My oppression stemmed from a very traumatizing and perplexing situation to say the least! It was supposed to be resolved by an “apology” but the person couldn’t even get that right. I knew at the time that the “apology” was fake because the person started with “I take responsibility …” like they were doing some sort of good deed.

#nonapology #stagedconversation #fakeapologymeansyourfake

Moving on…

I just left it there, I didn’t want to be involved in the situation any longer anyways it was just a very awkward and weird situation to be honest. At the end of the day if a person cannot see their own fault that’s not really my issue, its there’s.

Sometimes you just have to step over people and let them deal with themselves.

#tbh #notmystruggle #themissinggap

At first, this perplexing situation troubled me for some weeks. I sat down trying to work it out. I allowed it to bother me. I started replaying the situation in my mind, maybe I could’ve said this or maybe I could’ve said that. I just couldn’t get my head around it. These questions plagued my mind for weeks. I’m waking up in the morning feeling traumatized and perplexed and I’m saying God I just want to be free.

How God set me free:

  1. The first thing I did was I attended a revival service. When I arrived the Pastor was preaching a sermon called ‘Jubilee’ – which basically means freedom. God knew what He wanted me to hear that day #Godsgotyourback. At the end of the sermon the Pastor asked us to write down on a piece of paper anything thing that was troubling us so that we could pray and give it to God. He said it may not even be something that you did it may be something that someone did to you. So I wrote down the situation on the paper and I prayed and gave it to God. I felt a burden was lifted but part of me was still wrestling with trying to understand it.
  2. The following week the same Pastor came to my church and preached the same sermon ‘Jubilee’. After the sermon he carried out the same activity about writing the situation down on paper, this time I wrote down the names of the people involved. This time the prayer was very specific – I said God I am no longer trying to investigate this situation, I no longer need an explanation and I am no longer trying to seek understanding. – It was very specific.

Philippians 4:6 -7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving make your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding , will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

#imademyrequestsknown #Godgavemepeace #mymindwasfree

As I said the prayer God set me free. I didn’t need to go back to the person to get an explanation, I didn’t need to investigate any further I just let it go… finally I was free. No more waking up with questions running through my mind.

We always want to try and understand things, sometimes God just wants us to let it go. #yano

JESUS the God that sets the captives free

Once you make a decision to let something go and give it to God – He will give you freedom. He will set you free in your mind & spirit.

What has got you bound today? Are you replaying past situations in your mind and thinking what if, what if? Just write it down on a piece of paper and give it to God – we don’t always need to try and understand the how and why of every situation. Sometimes just pray about the missing gap. Your prayers will set YOU free. #prayforthem #prayforyourfreedom

Life becomes easier when you learn to accept an apology that you never got! Give thanks today for those that did you wrong, they unknowingly made you strong.  #thanks 😉

The Merciful God of Prophecy

I am no longer in the grave therefore you are no longer bound for I have SET YOU FREE! I did not walk amongst you in vain, I did not come and die to leave you in bondage, but I came to GIVE YOU FREEDOM! And whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Now I have called you and I have given you a mandate and you must also go and set the captives free. Says the Lord.

The Silent Fight

Have you ever been dragged into a situation that didn’t really concern you? You had so much to say but for some reason you decided to keep quiet? God will put you in the middle of a battle and tell you to keep silent. I’ve come to realise, sometimes it’s just not your fight!

“The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace”   – Exodus 14:14

When they start talking,it doesn’t make any sense and you’re just looking at them thinking – do you hear yourself? No, but really? Then they keep talking. Next thing you know you’re dragged into a situation and struggling to keep silent – I call this the silent fight. God will fight for you.

#letthemtalk #talkerstalk #prayersprayer #writerswrite #Godfights

Sometimes the struggle is just in holding your peace – until God says speak. You could actually shut down the whole discussion in just a few words but you decide not to speak – there’s no need.

#thesilentfight #whentheykeeptalking

It’s happens to me sometimes, being dragged into a situation that doesn’t really concern me, maybe someone was just having delusions in their head or someone was just carrying out random schemes that didn’t transpire. The devising of foolishness is sin” Proverbs 24:9 #btw

Back to my point, sometimes God will put you in a battle, and tell you to keep silent. The struggle is in holding your peace. Do it because God is working for you behind the scenes. When I write my story I’ll tell you more details, but this is something that I have learnt. You have to quit trying to explain yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you!

God knows what you’re going through and He knows the reason why. #thesilentfight

Even Jesus had to go through the silent fight.

In Mark 15 Jesus was brought before Pilate, the chief priests were taunting him and accusing him of many things. You see Jesus was also being dragged into a situation that didn’t really concern Him. The situation was based on delusions and false accusations! But God was fighting for Him. Jesus had to endure to give us an example so that we also may endure. The bible says that Jesus ‘answered nothing,’ Pilate continued to provoke Jesus but still Jesus did not reply. All the way to the cross Jesus fought the silent fight, He could’ve jumped off the cross to prove to His accusers that He was the Son of God, but He didn’t He endured. All the way to the tomb, then He rose again.

For some of us the struggle is just to hold our peace, would we have even made it to the cross?

God says “I will fight for you and you shall hold your peace”

Sometimes you just don’t need to say anything. #thesilentfight

Sit back relax and watch the story unfold. #Godsgothis.

The Jezebel Spirit

These days when we see a woman chasing after a man, we call her ‘Jezebel.’ Although that is one characteristic, there is so much more to this spirit. The Jezebel Spirit is also characterized by manipulation and control and can exist within a man or woman. Any spirit that is not of God is of the devil.

We need to be able to recognise the jezebel spirit, recognise, flee and pray.

#desperation #manipulation #spiritoflust #thejezebelspirit

Letter to the Churches:

In Revelation 2 v 20 Jesus is speaking to The Corrupt Church:

“Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.”

In this Scripture, we see that God isn’t actually talking to Jezebel; He’s talking to the church! God is saying, “YOU ALLOW HER.” God is holding the church accountable for harbouring this spirit. It’s time for the church of Jesus Christ to rise up and take dominion.

Recognising the Jezebel Spirit:

When I read the story of Joseph in Genesis 39, I can see it all – desperation, manipulation and the spirit of lust #thejezebelspirit

Joseph was a man of God. God spoke to Him through visions and dreams. When Joseph shared his dreams with his brothers in Genesis 37, their jealousy caused them to hate him; as a result they sold him into slavery. Even still, the Lord was with Joseph and caused everything he touched to prosper. Joseph was a blessed man.

In Genesis 39, Joseph is very successful; he has been put in charge of the house of Potiphar.

Then Joseph comes into contact with the spirit of Jezebel – Potiphar’s wife. Joseph was handsome in form and appearance (Genesis 39 v 6). As a result, Potiphar’s wife begins to lust after Joseph.

#desperation #spiritoflust

Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce Joseph but he refused. Joseph was a just man. Potiphar’s wife could not handle the rejection; she refused to leave Joseph alone.

  • The Jezebel spirit does not take no for an answer. Joseph refused to sleep with Potiphar’s wife, he said he did not want to sin against God (Gen 39 v 9). However, Potiphar’s wife continued to pursue him day by day. She was ‘longing for him’ this is what I mean by desperation. Every time Potiphar’s wife saw Joseph she would try to entice him. Joseph told her ‘no’ time and time again yet she continued to pursue him. The Jezebel spirit! #persistent #toopersistent #tooomuch
  • The Jezebel Spirit will cause a man to flee, in Genesis 39 v 12 when Potiphar’s wife grabbed Joseph by his garment and tried to force him to sleep with her. The bible says that Joseph left his garment in her hand and fled and ran outside. The Jezebel spirit has that effect; it will cause a man to flee.       Similarly in 1 Kings 19 the prophet Elijah ran for his life and went to hide in a cave because he wanted to get away from King Ahab’s wife, Jezebel! The Jezebel spirit will cause a man to flee.
  • The Jezebel spirit is a controlling spirit; if it doesn’t get its own way then it turns on you. That’s exactly what happened to Joseph next. Potiphar’s wife’s could not control Joseph and get him to do what she wanted so instead she turned on him. She told Potiphar that it was Joseph that had tried to pursue her and when she said no he left his garment in her hand and ran outside.
  • The Jezebel Spirit is a very manipulating spirit. Beware! This spirit knows how to play the victim. Potiphar’s wife managed to turn Potiphar against Joseph (Genesis 39 v 19). She made out like Joseph was the one trying to pursue her and make a mockery out of Potiphar and all that he had done for Joseph. Manipulation can be very subtle. This spirit loves to play the victim.

As a result of all this commotion Potiphar ended up throwing Joseph, his most trusted servant, into prison. Joseph was an innocent man, even when he was in prison, the Lord was with him. He was safe.

See no man has the power to hinder or manipulate God’s will.

Similarly when Elijah ran away from Jezebel in 1 Kings 19 he was hiding in a cave but God came to visit him there. The Jezebel Spirit will cause a man to flee to safety.

We need to recognise this spirit; it can be male or female. This spirit wants to exert control, it desires to get its own way – by any means necessary. It can twist a story to make an innocent person look guilty and make a guilty person look innocent. The Jezebel Spirit is skilled in the art of manipulation.

  • You didn’t get what you wanted so you turned on the person? #jezebelspirit
  • Caused commotion then it backfired and u tried to play the victim? #jezebelspirit
  • Twisting people’s words to make yourself look innocent? #jezebelspirit
  • Trying to get men to lust after you? #jezebelspirit

Desperation, manipulation and the spirit of lust! Jesus called the church in Revelations 2:20 The Corrupt Church. How many scandals did it take before it became The Corrupt Church? The end of Jezebel’s way was death. The bible says in Proverbs 14:2 that there’s a way that seems right to a man. But its end is the way of death.

God is calling us to be the Faithful Church. Revelations 3 speaks about The Faithful Church.

“Because you have kept my command to persevere I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”

God is not willing that anyone should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). God wants us to be the Faithful Church.

The Merciful God of Prophecy:

“The spirit of manipulation does not belong in My house, the spirit of jezebel does not belong in My House, I have given you time to repent and now I will make known to you the things that do not belong in My house. For there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed, there is nothing done in the secret that shall not be shouted from the rooftop. Woe unto you should you not listen to my voice and heed to My command. Make this a place for My Glory to dwell. Says the Lord.”

The Wilderness: Let God make you!

Sometimes when we are going through hard and tough times, our first instinct is to run away! Run away from our problems, run away from tests and trials, run away from difficulties. But there comes a time where you just have to stand firm and let God make you. God made the cactus! God wants us to be strong so that we can survive all types of conditions and circumstances.

In Philippians 4 v 12, Paul said:

“I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need”

Paul was like the cactus, he was able to survive in all types of circumstances, rich or poor, hot or cold, with plenty and with little. #Godmadehim #willyouletGodmakeyou #survivors

I’m talking about the cactus because God made the cactus. But will you let God make you?

The cactus is a member of the plant family, it is not bright and colourful like most plants, but the cactus has great substance. The cactus can survive in all types of weathers and conditions whether as a houseplant or even in the dessert. Since cacti live in dry areas they are able to absorb large amounts of water and store it in the stem or root for periods of drought. Like us, cacti can have dormant periods and periods of intense growth and blossoming. The cactus can survive in the wilderness, in extremely dry conditions where all other plants would have withered away and died – the cactus still survives. God wants us to be like the cactus – able to survive all types of circumstances and situations!!!

The wilderness

These past few months I have been having a wilderness experience, tests and trials and all sorts of things, but God has been making me. There have been times where God has given me just enough to survive. I felt like the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17 when God sent him to camp beside the Brook Cherith. God gave Elijah just enough to survive. God used various methods to provide for Elijah, first He sent the ravens to feed him, then he used a widow at Zarephath. Elijah was in the wilderness, but he was obedient, he did all that the Lord commanded him. God always provides for his people. Will you let God make you? #thewilderness

There were a couple of times this week where I received a morning call from my events staffing agency, I went to work for a few hours, ate lunch and was sent home early as they were not as busy as expected. It has been quite interesting, it’s almost as if God just sent me to these places to eat, build my character and do some work for Him. I met a lady whilst serving at a dinner party, she just so happened to be an ex-attendee of my church in Birmingham. We ended up talking during our short break and I was able to invite her to the London branch. You may call it a coincidence but I believe in divine appointments…
